On April 28, 2000, Respondent shot and killed five people and critically wounded a sixth person. All six victims were members of racial, ethnic, and religious minorities. He was arrested and charged with five counts of Criminal Homicide, one count of Recklessly Endangering Another Person, seven counts of Ethnic Intimidation, three counts of Criminal Mischief, two counts each of Arson and Institutional Vandalism, and one count each of Criminal Attempt (of Criminal Homicide), Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Aggravated Assault, and Firearms Not To Be Carried Without a License. |
