| Case Digest | Respondent had been transferred to inactive status effective April of 2000. The misconduct initially occurred while Respondent was on active status and continued when Respondent continued to practice law while on inactive status. Respondent was never returned to active status. Two Petitions for Discipline were filed and consolidated for hearing. Respondent stipulated to the facts of the matter, did not object to any exhibits offered by Petitioner and admitted he violated the Rules of Professional Conduct and Rules of Disciplinary Enforcement charged in the Petitions for Discipline. A majority of the Disciplinary Board recommended a suspension of 1 year and 1 day. Two members dissented and recommended a 2 year suspension based in part on Respondent’s prior disciplinary history and his complete disregard for the Rules of Professional Conduct and Disciplinary Enforcement. The Supreme Court suspended Respondent for 2 years. |
