Respondent represented a client in a bankruptcy action. The client was sued before a magistrate on a debt which accrued prior to the bankruptcy, but which was not scheduled in the bankruptcy. Respondent forwarded to the District Justice a copy of the discharge and what purported to be the bankruptcy schedule of discharged debts, but which substituted the name of the plaintiff for another creditor, falsely leading the DJ to believe that the plaintiff’s debt had been discharged. The Board rejected Respondent’s excuses for his conduct, which the Hearing Committee had erroneously accepted, and found serious Rule violations.
