| Case Digest | During the course of Respondent’s representation of his client in an unemployment compensation matter, he received an adverse decision from the referee which provided a date certain as the final day of appeal. One day after that date, Respondent attempted to file an appeal by backdating a fax and a letter of appeal and forwarding them to the unemployment compensation service center. Respondent also falsely advised opposing counsel that the appeal had been timely filed, and he subsequently lied under oath at a remanded hearing as to when he filed the appeal. |
