(Camp Hill, PA) - The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania has announced that Louis N. Teti, partner in the Chester County law firm of MacElree Harvey, Ltd., has been appointed Chair of the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court.

The 16-member Disciplinary Board is a board of the Supreme Court independently funded through an annual assessment of attorneys. It is comprised of 14 attorneys and two non-lawyers from across the state and meets regularly to review and decide cases, policy and board administrative matters. The board and the Supreme Court have exclusive jurisdiction over the conduct of any attorney admitted to practice law in this Commonwealth.

The board strives to protect the general public, maintain a high standard of integrity in the legal profession, and safeguard the reputation of the courts in this Commonwealth by assuring compliance by all attorneys to the Pennsylvania Rules of Professional Conduct.

Mr. Teti is past Vice Chair of the Disciplinary Board, a Past President of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, a former member of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court Committee to Study Racial and Gender Bias in the Courts, a Past President of the Chester County Bar Association and a Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation.

Mr. Teti currently serves on the Board of Directors of Downingtown National Bank and is Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Foundation at Paoli Memorial Hospital. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Judicial Evaluation Commission and is also President of the Saints Philip & James Home & School Association. He is a past President of the Central Chester County Chamber of Commerce, the Chester County Estate Planning Council, the Rotary Club of Central Chester County and the Rotary Club of Exton-Frazer.

Mr. Teti has a full schedule, but he finds time to visit with school children in area schools to educate them about the American legal system, and about being a lawyer by presenting all parts of the profession, not just those sensationalized on television.

A graduate of Dickinson College, B.A., and Temple University School of Law, J.D.; LL.M. (Taxation), Mr. Teti is a frequent lecturer for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute in the areas of estate planning, tax planning and estate administration. He resides in Downingtown with his wife, Joann, and their sons, Jeffrey and Ryan.

The Disciplinary Board was created by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania to review conduct and assure compliance by all attorneys to the Pennsylvania Rules of Professional Conduct.
