The Disciplinary Board's goals are to protect the general public, to maintain a high standard of integrity in the legal profession, and to safeguard the reputation of the courts of Pennsylvania.
 

(Camp Hill, PA) - The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania announced the appointment of Nikki Nordenberg, Ph.D., who through her counseling and consulting practice works with the Allegheny County Bar Association, to the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court.

The 16-member Disciplinary Board is an independent agency created by the Supreme Court with complete oversight and investigative power to review the conduct of Pennsylvania lawyers and to assure compliance by all attorneys to the Pennsylvania Rules of Professional Conduct.

The Disciplinary Board's goals are to protect the general public, to maintain a high standard of integrity in the legal profession, and to safeguard the reputation of the courts of Pennsylvania. The Board is comprised of 14 attorneys and two non-lawyers from across Pennsylvania, who meet regularly to review and decide cases, policy and Board administrative matters.

Dr. Nordenberg runs a private practice in Pittsburgh. She established the Career Services Center of the Allegheny County Bar Association, and since its opening has served as Director of Career Services. Her goal is to provide professional career guidance to members of the Allegheny County Bar Association. Her work includes extensive involvement with lawyers seeking alternative careers within the legal field, in law related positions and in new career fields.

Although she is not an attorney, she has maintained close ties to the legal field. "I am not an attorney, but I have always worked with attorneys," Dr. Nordenberg said. "The Allegheny County Bar Association is my largest client and I have seen 4,000 attorneys throughout my career."

As a career satisfaction specialist, Dr. Nordenberg is trained and experienced in administering and evaluating vocational and psychological assessment instruments related to career direction and planning. Dr. Nordenberg's background includes teaching, research, program design and implementation, administration and personal counseling. She specializes in working with adults in transition, career development, mentoring and coaching issues, as well as women and achievement.

A Pittsburgh resident, Dr. Nordenberg received her Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh, a M.S. in Education from Duquesne University, and a B.A. from Thiel College. She has conducted extensive research in adult development, mentoring, career patterns, career development, achievement and issues unique to women in the workplace.

The Disciplinary Board was created by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania to review conduct and assure compliance by all attorneys to the Pennsylvania Rules of Professional Conduct.
