(Camp Hill, PA) - The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania announces the appointment of William A. Pietragallo, founding partner of the Pittsburgh law firm Pietragallo, Bosick and Gordon, to the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court.

The 16-member Disciplinary Board is an independent agency created by the Supreme Court with complete oversight and investigative power to review the conduct of Pennsylvania lawyers and to assure compliance by all attorneys to the Pennsylvania Rules of Professional Conduct.

The Disciplinary Board's goals are to protect the general public, to maintain a high standard of integrity in the legal profession, and to safeguard the reputation of the courts of Pennsylvania. The Board is comprised of 14 attorneys and two non-lawyers from across Pennsylvania, who meet regularly to review and decide cases, policy and Board administrative matters.

Mr. Pietragallo co-founded Pietragallo, Bosick and Gordon in 1987. In addition to the main office in Pittsburgh, Pietragallo, Bosick and Gordon has offices in West Virginia and Ohio. Mr. Pietragallo's practice is concentrated in the areas of commercial, business and personal injury litigation, which includes aviation, product liability, employment discrimination and legal and accounting malpractice.

With 32 years of legal experience, Mr. Pietragallo is highly regarded in the Pennsylvania legal community. Mr. Pietragallo is listed among the "Best Lawyers in America." He is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a member of the American Board of Trial Attorneys. His other professional memberships include the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County, the Defense Research. He recently finished a six-year term on the PA Supreme Court Civil Rules Committee. Mr. Pietragallo is also a member of the American, Pennsylvania and Allegheny County Bar Associations.

Currently, Mr. Pietragallo serves as Chairman of the Board of the Magee Women's Hospital and serves on the Board of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, Mr. Pietragallo earned his undergraduate degree at John Carroll University in Cleveland. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and in the United States District Courts for the Western, Middle and Eastern Districts of Pennsylvania as well as the third and 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Pietragallo, a Pittsburgh resident, is an adjunct professor at the University of Pittsburgh Law School, where he teaches a class on civil litigation planning and strategy.

The Disciplinary Board was created by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania to review conduct and assure compliance by all attorneys to the Pennsylvania Rules of Professional Conduct.
