(Camp Hill, PA) - The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania has announced that Marvin J. Rudnitsky, managing partner of the Selinsgrove law firm of Rudnitsky & Hackman, has been appointed Chair of the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.
The 16-member Disciplinary Board is an independent agency created by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania to review conduct and assure compliance by all attorneys to the Pennsylvania Rules of Professional Conduct. Comprised of 14 attorneys and two non-lawyers from across the state, the Board meets regularly to decide cases, policy and board administrative matters. The Board's goals are to protect the general public, to maintain a high standard of integrity in the legal profession, and to safeguard the reputation of the courts in the Commonwealth.
Mr. Rudnitsky is past Vice Chair of the Disciplinary Board, and a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association's Board of Governors. He served for more than 20 years in the Pennsylvania Bar Association's House of Delegates, chaired its Solo & Small Firm Section, was editor of the organization's publication entitled, Lawyer To Lawyer Network Directory, and received its Special Achievement Award in 1994, and again in 2000. He has been twice elected by the lawyers in Pennsylvania to represent them in the American Bar Association's House of Delegates. Appointed to the Disciplinary Board in April 2000, he was also appointed in the same year to the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Bar Institute (PBI) where he is the Immediate Past President of the PBI's Board.
A graduate of Pennsylvania State University, B.A., and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, J.D., Mr. Rudnitsky is a Senior Faculty member at The Institute for Wealth Strategies Planning at Michigan State University. He served as Lecturer, Business Law, Susquehanna University for 30 years. A contributing author to two books on estate planning, Strictly Business: Planning Strategies for Privately Owned Businesses, and Giving: Philanthropy for Everyone, he practices wealth design and estate planning in Selinsgrove, where he resides with his wife Carolyn "Raven" Rudnitsky, a therapist and educator, and also past Chair of the Disciplinary Board in 1998.
