(Camp Hill, PA) - The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania has announced that Donald E. Wright, Jr., a member of the Erie law firm of Know, McLaughlin, Gornall & Sennett, P.C., has been reappointed to a second three-year term on the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. He will also serve as chair of the Disciplinary Board's finance committee.
The 16 member Disciplinary Board is an independent agency of the Supreme Court, funded through an annual assessment of attorneys practicing in Pennsylvania. The Board has complete oversight and investigative power to review the conduct of Pennsylvania lawyers and to assure compliance by all attorneys to the Pennsylvania Rules of Professional Conduct. The Board, comprised of 14 attorneys from across the Commonwealth, and two non-lawyers, meets regularly to review and decide cases, policy and Board administrative matters.
The Board's goals are to protect the general public, to maintain a high standard of integrity in the legal profession, and to safeguard the reputation of the courts of Pennsylvania by assuring compliance by all attorneys to the Rules of Professional Conduct.
Mr. Wright serves as chairman of the government and finance group of his law firm, specializing in municipal law. He is a member of the Erie County Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association and the American Bar Association. In addition to his position with the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court, Mr. Wright serves as solicitor for the Erie School District, the Erie Housing Authority, the Erie Municipal Airport Authority and the Corry Area School District.
A graduate of the University of Massachusetts, B.A., and the University of Akron School of Law, J.D., Mr. Wright's practice is concentrated in counseling government entities regarding complex public issues.
The Disciplinary Board was created by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania to review conduct and assure compliance by all attorneys to the Rules of Professional Conduct.
