Pa. Supreme Court Appoints Mark S. Baer to the Disciplinary Board

(Lemoyne, Pa.) - The Pennsylvania Supreme Court announces the appointment of Mark S. Baer to the Disciplinary Board. Baer was appointed by Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice Sandra Schultz Newman and will serve as one of the two non-lawyer positions on the board.

"Holding one of the non-lawyer positions on the Disciplinary Board, I hope to contribute an unbiased point of view," Baer said. "I have ample experience in dealing with different personalities of the public at my automotive dealership."

The Disciplinary Board is an independent agency funded by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and is constructed of 16 members, 14 attorneys and two non-lawyers from across the state. It assists the Supreme Court in carrying out its exclusive jurisdiction over the licensing and discipline of attorneys in Pennsylvania. The members meet regularly to decide cases, policies and board administrative matters.

Mark S. Baer currently resides in Washington, Pa. where he owns Budd Baer Inc., an automotive dealership. He belongs to the National Automobile Dealers Association and was a board member of the Pennsylvania Automotive Association for eight years. He began working in the automotive industry at age 13 when he washed cars at his father's dealership. After attending Edinboro University for his Bachelor's degree, he went to Northwood University in Michigan to receive a certification in automotive merchandising. Baer was born and raised in Pittsburgh.

The Disciplinary Board's goals are to protect the general public, maintain a high standard of integrity in the legal profession, and safeguard the reputation of the courts of Pennsylvania. The Disciplinary Board was created by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania to review conduct and assure compliance by all attorneys to the Pennsylvania Rules of Professional Conduct.
