Elaine Bixler Represents PA At National Lawyer Disciplinary Board Meeting

(Camp Hill, PA) - Elaine M. Bixler, Secretary of the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, recently served as a moderator at the annual meeting of the Board of Directors of the National Council of Lawyer Disciplinary Boards (NCLDB) in Utah.

Ms. Bixler, a director of the NCLDB, attended the annual meeting at the Utah State Bar Center in Salt Lake City. The program at the annual meeting moderated by Ms. Bixler, Achieving Uniformity in Sanctions - With or Without the American Bar Association Standards, included members of the Michigan, Georgia and Washington state bar associations and disciplinary boards.

The NCLDB is a consortium of state disciplinary and regulatory boards and agencies that serves as a national forum for the exchange of information regarding the administration, conduct and improvement of lawyer disciplinary functions and proceedings. Presently, the NCLDB consists of members of disciplinary boards, state bar, and state supreme courts from twenty-one states in the U.S. and the District of Columbia.

As Secretary for Pennsylvania's Disciplinary Board, Ms. Bixler serves as the Secretary of the Board, Prothonotary, and is liaison between the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the Board, the Hearing Committees and the Office of Disciplinary Council.

The Disciplinary Board was created by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania to review conduct and assure compliance by all attorneys to the Pennsylvania Rules of Professional Conduct.
