Pennsylvania Supreme Court Appoints Bucks County Attorney to Disciplinary Board

Harrisburg, Pa., (April 7, 2015) – The Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania announces the appointment of Bucks County attorney John F. Cordisco for a term of three years, commencing April 1, 2015. Cordisco is the founder and principal of Cordisco Law, LLC, of Langhorne, Bucks County.

“In my role on the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, I look forward to actively participating with Board members to ensure we are appropriately reviewing and deciding cases, as well as carrying out other responsibilities assigned by the Board,” said Cordisco.

The Disciplinary Board is an independent agency under the Supreme Court’s jurisdiction, consisting of thirteen members: eleven attorneys and two non-lawyers from across the Commonwealth. Funded by annual assessments paid by attorneys licensed to practice in the Commonwealth, it assists the Supreme Court in all matters involving attorney licensing and discipline in Pennsylvania.

At the age of 24, Cordisco successfully ran for a seat in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, which he held for six years, from 1981 to 1986. During his tenure, Cordisco served on the House Judiciary Committee, Labor Relations Committee, and as Chairman of the House Committee on Veterans’ Health Care. He was recognized by the Veterans of Foreign Wars and received their Legislative Award. Also, he received the Vietnam Veterans’ Appreciation Award for assisting veterans exposed to Agent Orange, and the American Legion’s Legislative Award.

John F. Cordisco has dedicated his professional and personal life to helping others. In the practice of law, he focuses on representing innocent victims who have been injured or have suffered wrongful death. His diverse career includes many roles, from factory worker and teacher, to member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Currently, he is one of the top recognized personal injury lawyers in Southeast Pennsylvania, including Bucks County and Philadelphia.

Cordisco has a long history of community outreach and has worked to improve conditions for children outside the United States. With assistance from Food for the Poor, he established and helped build The John Cordisco Education and Feeding Center in Managua, Nicaragua that provides a safe place for Nicaraguan children to play, attend classes and obtain healthy and nutritious meals. Through his work, Cordisco also helped build orphanages for special needs children and schools in Central America. He founded the Have a Heart Foundation, which provides assistance for special needs children and their families. Also, he received the Ted Lindeman Humanitarian Award for helping local special needs children within Pennsylvania.

Cordisco earned his undergraduate degree from Rider College in 1977 and graduated with his Juris Doctorate from Temple University School of Law in 1986.
