Prominent Commercial, Business And Personal Injury Attorney Reappointed To Pennsylvania Supreme Court Disciplinary Board
(Camp Hill, Pa.) - William A. Pietragallo, a founding partner of the Pittsburgh law firm Pietragallo, Bosick and Gordon has been reappointed to a second, three-year term on the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.
"Among the traditional disciplinary issues it is possible that we will see and I expect to deal with the difficult issues of public criticism of the judiciary balancing the interest of free speech with the appropriate respect and deference for integrity of the Courts and the high offices of the judges and justices. We will insure that all lawyers in Pa. honor their professional obligations notwithstanding their personal opinions," Pietragallo said regarding his second term.
The 16-member Disciplinary Board, an independent agency created by the Supreme Court and funded through an assessment of attorneys practicing in Pennsylvania, comprised of 14 attorneys and two non-attorneys from across the Commonwealth. The Board meets regularly to decide board administrative matters, cases and policies. The goals of the Disciplinary Board are to protect the general public, to maintain a high standard of integrity in the legal profession and to safeguard the reputation of the courts in Pennsylvania by assuring compliance by all attorneys to the Pennsylvania Rules of Professional Conduct.
"The board is conscientious, hardworking and fair-minded. It is a privilege to serve with individuals with those character traits," said Pietragallo.
Pietragallo co-founded Pietragallo, Bosick and Gordon in 1987 and has offices in Pittsburgh, West Virginia and Ohio. He concentrates his practice in commercial, business and personal injury litigation, which includes aviation, product liability, employment discrimination, and legal and accounting malpractice.
"William Pietragallo's diverse legal experience makes him an ideal member of the Disciplinary Board," Jonathan Newman, Chairman of the Disciplinary Board, said. "We are fortunate to have him on board for his second term."
A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, Pietragallo received his undergraduate degree at John Carroll University in Cleveland. He also studied abroad, attending Loyola University of Rome. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and in the United States District Courts for the Western, Middle and Eastern Districts of Pennsylvania as well as the third and 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.
